Return and Refund Policy

All Sales Final

No Refunds on Digital Products and Services

All purchases made through Elsewhere Co. are final and non-refundable, covering both our digital products and consulting services. We do not offer returns, exchanges, or cancellations once a purchase is completed (except where required by law). By making a purchase, you agree to this no-refund policy. If you do not accept these terms, please refrain from purchasing our products or services.

Digital Products (E-Books and Guides)

Due to the intangible and immediate-access nature of digital goods, all sales of e-books, guides, and other downloadable content are final. Once a digital product has been delivered (e.g. download link provided or file accessed), it cannot be returned or refunded. Digital products can be easily copied or stored; therefore, allowing returns would be unfair and unsustainable after delivery. We appreciate your understanding that there is no way to “return” a digital item once it’s been received by you.

  • Example: If you purchase our “Your Guide to a Soft Landing” e-book, you will receive immediate access to the PDF. Given that you obtain full value upfront and the content could be reproduced, we cannot offer any refund once the file is downloaded. (This is a common practice for businesses selling digital content, as customers may otherwise copy the product and seek a refund unfairly.)

Technical Issues: In the unlikely event you encounter a technical problem with a digital product (such as a corrupt file or download error), please contact us promptly. We will ensure you receive a working copy of the product you purchased. While we do not issue refunds for digital goods, we are committed to providing the content you paid for in usable form. Resolving technical issues will be our first remedy.

Consulting Services (Business & Relocation Consulting)

Purchases of our consultations, advisory sessions, and relocation services are non-refundable as well. When you book a consulting session or service package with Elsewhere Co., we reserve time and resources for your appointment, and we deliver value through preparation and expertise. Once a service is booked or rendered, we cannot offer a refund for any used or unused portion of the consulting service. This includes one-on-one business consulting calls, strategy sessions, relocation guidance, and similar advisory services.

  • If you need to reschedule a consultation, we will do our best to accommodate a new time, provided you give reasonable advance notice. However, cancellations or no-shows will not receive a refund. Our policy is that all consulting fees paid are earned by us upon scheduling and preparation for your session (much like other professional services where the expert’s time is the product). Other companies with subscription or consulting offerings likewise maintain no-refund policies once services have been delivered or partially delivered.

We understand that our advice and guidance are critical to your plans, and we stand by the quality of our services. However, dissatisfaction with a service (e.g. if our advice did not meet your expectations or outcomes) is not a ground for a refund, given the subjective and time-based nature of consulting. We encourage open communication during your sessions to ensure value is being received.

Exceptions and Legal Rights

While our default stance is no refunds, we will honor any mandatory rights you have under applicable consumer protection laws:

  • Defective or Not as Described: If a digital product you purchase is defective (e.g. an e-book file that cannot be opened after repeated attempts) or not as described, notify us. We will verify the issue and, if confirmed, provide a working replacement or remedy as required. Generally, we do not anticipate such issues, but your statutory rights for defective products (if any under your local law) will be respected. In most jurisdictions, merchants must remedy defective digital goods even if a no-refund policy exists.

  • Jurisdictional Mandates: This policy is intended to comply with international consumer laws. If the law in your region grants you certain cancellation or refund rights, those will override this policy to the extent required. For example, customers in the European Union and United Kingdom may have a 14-day “cooling-off” period for certain digital purchases(unless you have begun the download, in which case the right may be waived). As another example, Australian consumer law prohibits absolute no-refund policies, ensuring consumers can seek remedies if a product or service is not delivered as promised. Elsewhere Co. will comply with any such mandatory provisions. This means that where refunds or cancellations are required by law (and cannot be waived by agreement), we will follow the law even if this policy states no refunds.

  • Voluntary Exception (Case-by-Case): Aside from legal requirements, Elsewhere Co. reserves the right (at our sole discretion) to make a rare exception in extraordinary circumstances. For instance, if a duplicate order was made in error or a customer has a compelling unforeseen hardship, we may consider a refund or credit as a courtesy. However, such exceptions are not guaranteed and should not be expected. We emphasize that, as a rule, all sales are final.

No Legal or Professional Advice (Consultation Disclaimer)

Elsewhere Co. is not a law firm and does not provide legal services. All information, content, and services we offer – including consultations, guidance, and written materials – are for general informational purposes only and do not constitute legal advice or create any attorney-client relationship. We employ expert knowledge in business, cultural integration, and relocation logistics, but we are not licensed attorneys, financial planners, or immigration agents, and we do not hold ourselves out as such.

  • Any guidance or consultation you receive from us should be considered general guidance to help you in decision-making. It should not be relied upon as professional advice in lieu of consulting appropriate licensed professionals. For example, if we provide insights on visa processes or business strategy, those are educational in nature, drawn from experience and research – not a substitute for personalized legal, immigration, or financial advice from a qualified professional.

  • No Attorney-Client Relationship: Communicating with Elsewhere Co. or using our services does not establish any attorney-client or fiduciary relationship. We do not represent you in legal matters, and nothing we say or provide is protected by legal privilege. As one standard disclaimer explains, content provided is not intended to and does not constitute legal advice, and no attorney-client relationship is formed by our interactions. If you require legal advice for contracts, immigration, taxation, or other regulated matters, you should consult a licensed attorney or relevant professional.

  • Use at Your Own Risk: Any actions you take or decisions you make based on our products or consultations are solely at your own risk and discretion. While we strive to provide accurate, up-to-date information, we do not guarantee that all information is correct, complete, or suited to your specific situation. (In fact, even laws and regulations can change frequently; what we discuss is based on knowledge at the time but could become outdated.) No guarantee of outcome is given – we make no promises that following our guidance will result in any particular outcome for your relocation or business ventures. Success depends on many factors outside our control, and you must use your own judgment and/or seek independent advice as needed.

  • Not Financial or Tax Advice: Similarly, any references we make to business planning, budgeting, or financial considerations are general in nature. We are not certified financial advisors or tax consultants. Thus, nothing in our service constitutes financial, investment, or tax advice. Always consider consulting a CPA, financial planner, or other licensed expert for such matters.

In summary, Elsewhere Co. disclaims any and all liability for outcomes. Our products and services are provided “as is” without warranties. By using them, you acknowledge that no professional advice is being given and agree not to hold us liable for your use of the information. Standard industry disclaimers reinforce that information provided for educational purposes should not be taken as advice and that pursuing any course of action based on such information is at the user’s risk.
